    I don't know if it's standard or not. It is legal to make your hire contingent on your signing it.

    If it bothers you, take it to an attorney in your state for review.

    Agree, it's legal. It may be that the organization has had bad luck with previous hires in that position - they reused to work especially hard and/or outside their job description - and the organization just wants to make sure that the next hire really understands what he/she is getting into.
