Is it legal to sell works of art which depict a company's products including their logo?
In case these details are relevant, the logo in question is publicly displayed by the company, the logo is a well-known local icon associated with the area rather than merely with the company, and the work of art is a depiction of a public location in which the logo is displayed. (Realism demands the logo be included.)
Also, the company in question has, in recent days, begun something of a vendetta against anyone who uses the logo. I may be able to win an infringement suit, but the victory would be pyrrhic indeed unless I can also get the company sanctioned for a frivolous action. Struggling artists can't cover big legal bills and I don't have a day job to quit at the moment.
