My question involves criminal law for the state of: Iowa

I have been on probation since 2004. I was charged with a Class D felony to forgery and sentenced to 5 years in prison in two different counties, which were ran concurrent, and suspended. One county required me to pay fines, court cost and restitution. The second county required me to pay court cost and restitution.

November 2008, my probation officer violated me for non payment of restitution, and for failing 3 drug tests. My restitution since then has been paid in full. This is my first time ever being on probation, and my first criminal charge ever. What is the outcome of me not going to prison for 5 years? I have already spent 5 years on probation, plus, obviously I am still on it.

I have a public defender for each county, but they don't seem like they are working for me or with me. I don't know what I should do about that, should I fire them and get new ones appointed to help represent me?
