    Default Comprehensive vs Collision

While driving a Chevy Tahoe on a major highway in PA we ended up with a hole in the gas tank. Something hit the tank hard enough to puncture. Most likely a projectile from under a tire of a vehicle.
Allstate insurance adjuster classified damage as collision instead of comprehensive. Allstate explained that they consider any undercarriage damage to be collision.
Is it possible to fight this classification?
I can not find any "legal" definition of the comprehensive insurance...

    Default Re: Comprehensive vs Collision

It depends on your policy language, but I expect that you're going to run into a brick wall. Insurance companies have been dealing with this type of claim for decades, and I've yet to find one that would cover this type of damage under comprehensive.
