    Default Early Release

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Arkansas

The offender now lives in Ohio and is registered as an offender as he has to do for the rest of his life. He is a Tier III offender, child rape. I am doing research as he is now a part of my family and has been around my children without us knowing anything until after the fact. The crime was committed in Arkansas and he was sentenced to 20 years. However, he was released after 7 (this was verified by the prison). What possible reasons can someone be released after only 7 years? I can see maybe after 15, but not 7.

    Default Re: Early Release

We know nothing about the case. The victim and, if the victim was still a minor, victim's family would have been notified of parole board proceedings - if they attended, ask what happened.
