    Default Shoplifting at JCPenneys

    My question involves criminal law for the state of: New York

    I'm 17 years old and this was my first time in trouble with the law, i was caught shoplifting for an item that was $60. the police came and arressted me, fingerprints, took pictures and all. i have a court date in about 2 weeks and dont know what to expect. should i get a lawyer? and is there anyway i can eventually have this expunged? i can't have this on my permanent record!
    any advise is appreciated.

    get a consultation with a Criminal Defense Lawyer - many offer free consultations.
