I see no type of case against your former manager. If he believed you did a "poor" job due to lack of communication and/or only being there a short time, that is not illegal even if you didn't agree with him. Based on your post, I see nothing illegal done by the mgr. whether you agree with his assessment or not & no matter if you believe it was unfair. Unfair is not illegal.


I'm thinking of becoming a lawyer, but seeing this type of stuff go on, I don't think I want in. Is there a forum you recommend me to join to see what it's really like to be a lawyer? I'd hate to become a lawyer and can't do anything about inequity and fairness. The above example seems more like a dictatorship than a democratic fair process.
