    Default Traffic Misdemeanor in Missouri

My question involves criminal records for the state of: Missouri

I was arrested for driving more than 20 miles over the speed limit (a class B misdemeanor) five years ago, and have entered a guilty plea later in court.

I would like to know if this conviction or the arrest would show up in any criminal background search for the state of Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol website states the following in the application for a criminal record check:

Criminal History Record Information is information collected by criminal justice agencies on individuals consisting of
arrests, prosecution, a final disposition, correctional supervision, and release. All felony and serious misdemeanor
arrests (referred to as reportable arrests) including offender registration information as defined under 589.400, RSMo.
and all alcohol and drug related traffic offenses are reportable to the MCRR.
    I appreciate your help.

Default Re: Traffic Misdemeanor in Missouri

I don't see any formal definition of "serious misdemeanor" in Missouri law; I am skeptical that a 20 MPH speeding offense would be classified as a "serious misdemeanor". But if you want to know what the highway patrol considers to be a "serious misdemeanor", your best bet is to ask them. Or you could order a copy of your own record to see what's on it.
