    Default Answer to a Petition

    I am in Illinois.

In a case where a petition to terminate guardianship has been filed, does the current guardian need to file an answer if they are contesting the petition? Also would you attach any document evidence at that time, or would you bring that, along with witnesses to court?

It would be a very good idea to answer the petition if you oppose it. If there are documents that may be useful to the court as exhibits, it may be appropriate to attach them; I can't really answer that in the abstract.
