Default I Asked for a Copy of a Contract a Lawyer Claims I Signed and He Refused

A lawyer representing a company I have a dispute with claims that I signed a contract with his client. I did not sign a contract with his client and asked for a copy of the contract, he says he doesn't have to give me copies of anything unless I have a lawyer and the lawyer makes that request.
I want to see a copy of the contract to prove it even exists and if it does I want to have the signature verified.
Does he have the legal right to refuse to give me proof that there is a contract with my signature on it?

In a nutshell, yes. He does not have to give you anything. He is not your attorney and owes you no duty. It would be the client that would decide if a copy of the contract would be given to you.

He does not have to give it to your attorney either, but probably would as there are certain rules and courtesy that members of the bar have to follow.

In theory, they could refuse until you filed a civil action and forced them to produce it in discovery. If they filed, they would have to produce it. Chances are though, there is no contract.

Also, a real contract is going to have the signatures notarized at the time the contract is signed. I would never sign a contract without all the signatures being notarized. My banks are happy to provide a conference room and their notary public for that purpose and don't even charge me anything.

Yes. If the dispute progresses to a legal case you will have ample opportunity to require production of any documents you like, but not until then.
