South Carolina.

I will be simply and concise.

Basically, a guy by the name of Mr. M was shot in his house, in his abdomen, and in his head. Police does not know who did it just yet.

GOing back in time: Mr. M and Mrs. M were accusing each other of cheating, and one day after a heated argument Mrs. M grabbed a handgun and shot her husband, Mr. M. in the stomach. He goes to the hospital, survives, and goes back home. A few days latter, his house is broken into and he is shot twice and dies. She is not yet a suspect, but it is supicious.

* Mrs. M paid a fine and wasn't in jail at this time *

Initially, the attorney was using battered spouse syndrome as her defence (Mr. M has had two CriminalDomesticViolence charges), but then things changed as Mr. M was found dead in his house.

My questions are simple,
- I am helping this attorney, and would like to be as useful as possible, so how has the case changed from its initial stages (Mrs. M shoting Mr. M from someone else shoting Mr. M) ?

- Can Battered Spouse Syndrome still be used since she's not being considered a suspect just yet?

- Basically, how has this case shifted based on this limited information?

- How can I be more useful to this lawyer in this case? Any research methods or anything you would suggest?

Thank you very much.
