My question involves criminal law for the state of: North Carolina.
I did something stupid in college and was caught. I was under 21, went through a year long deferred prosecution program, and had the charges dropped and expunged from my record. I currently want to be a high school teacher. My question: When I submit to a criminal background check by the department of education, will the department be able to see the expunged charge? Will that affect employment?
