Default How Would a Misdemeanor Affect My Citizenship Application

I live in Phoenix but was charged in Boulder, Colorado for Obstruction of Governmental Office which is a Class C misdemeanor. Basically, I was held in an Alcohol Recovery Center, was mistreated and was taken to prison with charges of attempting to break a window(absolutely false). My court date is for Dec 15, 2009. What possible sentence can I expect? Do you think this will affect my Citizenship application when I file next year.

This is my first ever offense. Please advise.

Any criminal conduct can affect your ability to naturalize. I suggest working with a lawyer to see if you might be able to get a dismissal. Note, you'll be having to explain the arrest, even if you get a dismissal.
