Hi, I am a nurse employed somewhere in NJ In an Acute Facility I was recruited by an agency and I had a 3 yr contract with the hospital. The Issues that I will be presenting to you is about breach of employment contract and what are their effects on my immigrant status as well my RN License.

Actually i had this RN orientation for few months in the hospital ( ? unit/Acute Facility). During the course of the orientation, I found out that I am not ready for the job. I was not good enough in handling the stress I had and I am afraid that I might compromise the health status of the patient as well as putting my RN License at risk. So I decided to quit the job and submitted a resignation letter.

In the contract it was spelled out that the RN (me) should not terminate the contract at will and should I decide so I will be liable for damages and payment of the expenses they made. It further says that the nurse will be repatriated back to the Philippines at his expense.

With this, I am asking your opinion or experience you had regarding my situation. I believed that I need to pay them back for the expenses they made but am I criminally liable for breaching the contract- as a form of fraud? What effect do it have on my immigrant status? Can it be a ground for the cancellation of my RN License?
