14 Year Old with an 18 Year Old Boyfriend in Washington

I am currently 14 years old and I live in Washington. my birthday is may of 1995. my boyfriend just turned 18 in spetember and I have a few questions about us being together. I've done my research but I want to make sure everything I have read is accurate.

1.) Legally, can i 'date' him? Can I kiss him if we don't have sex?
2.) If, when I turn 16, I get emancipated, can I legally date him?
3.) I have read the RCW about child molestation, which is most likely what he would be charged with since we're not sexually active. It states "A person is guilty of child molestation in the third degree when the person has, or knowingly causes another person under the age of eighteen to have, sexual contact with another who is at least fourteen years old but less than sixteen years old and not married to the perpetrator and the perpetrator is at least forty-eight months older than the victim." Since he's not a full 48 months, does this law apply to him and is there a law that does?

The Law of "What possibly could an 18 year old see in a 14 year old" would certainly apply here. If he wants to flirt will prison, he can. By the way. He can still be charged with a sex crime. The law says it is a "defense" if he is less than 48 months older. Not all defenses work.
