    Default Medical Debt Collection

After the insurance paid their portion we were sent a bill from the MRI facility.
We were told that we could make 2 payments. So, we sent the first half last Jan.
2009 and in Feb. after they received our payment we were put into collection.
AFTER THEY CASHED OUR AGREED UPON AMOUNT!

We called the facility right away and they accepted the balance via credit card, however, we continue getting calls saying that we owe the interest. The dept now was reported and is on my credit report. Can we sue the collection agency? The credit report company will not take off the so called debt.
What are our rights? We should have never been placed in collection to begin with.

If you made the last payment toward your balance due, how could there still have been an outstanding balance that you had to pay by credit card?
