My question involves a careless driving ticket from the State of Colorado.
I was issued a ticket for careless driving after an accident. The other driver was not issued a ticket. I was behind the other vehicle at a stop light in the left lane of traffic. After the light the other vehicle moved into the right hand lane of traffic. I stayed in the left lane. The other driver slowed as if turning right. Instead, they turned left, from the right hand lane. The other vehicle was a large Jeep, I drove a small Toyota Corolla. The front of my vehicle was pushed over the double yellow line; however the back of my car was still in the left lane of traffic. I was issued the ticket because the officer believed I had crossed the double yellow line to pass the person turning left. The officer also believed that there was only one lane of traffic. I have pictures and information from the city to prove that there are two lanes and they are marked correctly.
I hired a forensic crash analysis which determined I was not at fault for the accident and could not have avoided the accident. I am fighting the ticket.
I know what to ask my witness but have not idea what to ask the police officer.
Any help would be appreciated.![]()
