My question involves criminal law for the state of: Arizona,
I want to know if I will be able to teach children, K-12, or even community college or college and or work with children and or elderly? Can I get a fingerprint clearance card ever? Is there a number of years before I will be able to do this or not at all?
In 1998, I had an incident with a police officer who pulled me over for speeding; she filed an assault charge on me for touching her hand as she proceeded to reach into my car allegedly, to turn off my ignition, which was already off. I pleaded guilty to a lesser charge because in the state of AZ it would have been a felony charge. I now have a misdemeanor charge on record.
I am in the process of applying to getting my master’s in teaching secondary or elementary. I am wondering if I should continue with the process. I do not know if I can teach or not and I do not want to pay the money to ascertain my master if I cannot use it for this purpose. In addition, what type of jobs can I do that require a fingerprint clearance with a misdemeanor? My job experience background has been in finance and working with young adults all my life?
Please help, I am confused since I have been out of the work force for sometime.
Signed,
Starting over
