Default Extended Benefits and Temporary Work

My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of:MASSACHUSETTS

I have several questions, with regard to extended benefits and temporary work.
I have been offered a 5 month temporary position making more than my UI benefit. If I accept the 5 month position, which is without benefits and in another state (I am currently collecting MA unemployment and living in Maine) can I return to my extended unemployment benefits when the temporary position is over? I have exhausted the original 26 weeks of benefits and am several weeks into the first extension - EB08.

Should I have a contract with this company as an independant contractor?

What do I claim if the contract pays bi-weekly? Would the contract amount for that check be claimed for the week it was paid in? and a UI claim filed for the week not paid? The unemployment office did tell me at one time that if I worked freelance and was paid a lump sum for that freelance work that I would report that full amount for the week it was paid (as opposed to the hours worked) and in that week I would not be eligible for UI. The next week I would file as usual with no additional income. I am confused about what to do here and am also afraid of what happens at the end of the 5 month term because I am on Extended Benefits. Will I be without unemployment benefits assuming the extended benefits are still in place?
I do want to work and report this but am trying to determine whether to accept the temp work or keep looking for permanent work.

    Thanks.

Requirements for qualifying for Massachusetts unemployment can be read here, and information on extended benefits is here. If you are unable to figure out where you stand, based upon your earnings and claim history, I suggest talking to somebody at EOWLD about your case. I'm personally not inclined to guess as to what will happen, based upon skeletal facts, and perhaps steer you in the wrong direction as a result of mistaken assumptions.

Thank you for the site links, I have already been to these and there are no real answers to my questions there which is why I posted here.
Are there any HR people from MA out there that could give me some advice?

I have no information on how the extended benefits are working or what does and does not affect them.

Thanks. OK, but let's forget about the extended benefits for now. My one year claim MA DUI date coincides with the potential end of this temp position. I understand that I have to re-sign up for unemployment in MA at that point. As these are ME wages and not MA wages, who am I eligible to claim from? I have read about the 5 quarters, but would have been MA employed for the quarter prior to unemployment and ME employed for the 5th quarter. (the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th MA UI)The quarter prior to MA UI is much larger than the 5th quarter.
Am I still eligible for MA UI?

A 5-month assignment would take you into 2nd quarter 2010. Filing a new claim at that time, the base period looked at would be January through December, 2009. So since you would have only 2-3 weeks of pay reported to Maine in 4th quarter 2009, you would probably still have to file in MA. Which, as you say, would be a good thing.
