My question involves employment and labor law for the state of: Kentucky
I am working through a temporary service for a project an out of state electrical contractor is doing here locally. The first week I worked for them I received a paycheck and everything was fine. The second week I had direct deposit set up through them and they assured me everything was set and good to go. I verified the routing and account numbers multiple times with the bank and made sure this is what the company had too. My direct deposit did not go through that week on Thursday night as it was supposed to. I only found out when I called them Friday morning that they had supposedly cut me a check and mailed it on Wendesday (11/18). I still have not received this check and they are refusing to stop payment on it and do anything to accommodate me getting my money. Now, this week, (the following week) I was assured that the normal person who did payroll wasn't there last week, my money will go in fine. Well, it didn't. Now they owe me 2 paychecks and are giving me a run around. Also I'm sitting on a time card for the third paycheck but payday on it isn't until next Thursday. What recourse do I have? I need to continue working because it's nearly impossible to find a job in the building trades right now but I can't do it for no pay however long they want to string me along.
