My question involves business law in the state of: NY
I own a computer repair shop in NY and am wondering what length of time I must wait before taking ownership of unclaimed goods that were dropped off for repair.

I'm not finding anything pertaining to items left for repair.
My own favorite computer shop, however, has a posted notice stating that anything not picked up within 90 days will be sold to recover costs of repair. You might consider prominently posting such a notice.
You should post a notice as already stated.
You should have a terms and conditions section at the bottom of your repair order setting the time limit, etc. You should give customers a claim stub with the same information relevant to the claim stub.
It is a civil matter, but if you do not give customers a fair warning, then you could find yourself in small claims court.
You might want to research your state law concerning repair shops and storage businesses. That might give you some guidance.
