My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Utah
A little back ground. I am a full time employee, been at the company for over 9 years now. In good standings with all of my metrics. Over the summer my spouce and I went through a rough patch where we were planning a divorce, I had missed quite a bit of work because of this, for meetings with lawyers or just personal days when I was on the edge of a break down. I used up most of my leave during the summer because of this. I have fmla for my sons asthma though. Last week he had gotten sick and because of his asthma it was pretty bad so I missed Wed through Fri, was planning on going back to work Monday when my babysitter called and mentioned that she would be unavailable for the next 3 days, I had no other choice but to call in again, Wed night 3 of my kids and myself got horribly sick with the stomach flu, there was no way I could go to work. So after already being on thin ice I missed almost two weeks in a row. I give it a very good chance that I will be let go, my company is not very flexable with that. If I am let go would I be able to file for unemployment? I am very worried about being let go, and if I am there is very little options out there right now to get a new job.
