Unhappy What Happens if Your Unemployment Case is Denied Based on a Lie - Can You Reapply

    California

    Here is my situation...
I filled for unemployment because my hours were cut from 30 to 8. I claimed 1 time. My hrs went back to normal, so i stopped claiming thinking they would just close the claim (they close it because they assume you have gotten more hours) So a few days later after not claiming i receive a notice for a phone interview. I did not answer because i figured there was no need to an interview since i was not going to claim anyway.

So then i get another call from the EDD lady telling me she needs to talk to me and that i need to call her back soon, because if i didnt she would make a decision on my claim based on the information she had.She also said my boss apparently claimed that i had denied ours from her. Which i didnt!!

So my concern is that the lady will now deny my claim because i lied about not denying hours. When i didnt deny any hours from my employer.I do not wish to claim anymore at this time anyway...so i dont care if they cancel my claim. My concern is that i will never be able to file again because it will say on my record that i lied.

I tried calling EDD a million times.I finally got through after like 200 minutes! I talked to the lady and she said she will forward my message to the lady i need to talk to.

Now i was just told recently that i will loose 20hrs due to the fact that they are cutting funding for my job.So i will need to file again.

So here are my questions....when i file again, will i be denied because of this claim my boss said??
Will i be denied because i didnt call her back in time?Or because of what my boss said?

It's your responsibility to notify EDD when you have returned to work.

So a few days later after not claiming i receive a notice for a phone interview. I did not answer because i figured there was no need to an interview since i was not going to claim anyway.
When EDD tells you to be available for a phone interview, you make yourself available for a phone interview. Period.

So here are my questions....when i file again, will i be denied because of this claim my boss said??
You could be. If you are, you would need to appeal.
