Post J1 Two Year Rule Does Apply and Canceled

    Hello,
I am currently on J-1 visa status, two year rule does apply and expires and expires march 2010.

I m unhappy with my prgoram and I would like to leave the program but if I do that they will cancel my J1 VISA. I woul like to know if I could change my visa status or just stay in USA until february and go back to my Country before my J1 expires.

    Thank you for your attention.

Change your visa to what, based upon what qualification? E.g., you plan to change to an F1 based upon your admission into an academic program?

I want to change my visa status to be a tourist. My J1 expires just in March but I will finish my exchange program in December so after that I have just 30 days legal here because I will not have a conection with sponsor( program). So I would like to find out how can I stay more than those 30 days just on vacation and go back when my visa really expires in March.

    Thank you.
