Default Married to Citizen but Separated

Hello Everyone, I am hoping someone can help me or atleast give me some kind of good news. Ok..here is my situation. I met this woman a few years ago and we got married. She petitioned for me and eventually I was given a visa to enter the country. All was happy and well until I arrive in the country and she left me for someone else . As this point I was left on my own, I had no one to turn to for advice on how to obtain any documentation. I eventually received a temporary work permit and temporary ss. Because I was left on my own I could not renew any of these items when expired. I have now been in this country for over 5 years and I am still in the same situation. I dont know what to do at this point. Every lawyer I go to cannot help me. I am not sure if I am even seeing the right lawyers.
So, please I am begging any one who can advice me on what to do at this point.
    Thank you.

Are you officially divorced, or still married?

    You need an Immigration lawyer.
