Default Theft by Making Fraudulent Returns

My question involves criminal law for the state of: CA

    Hi,
I am in need of some help. I have never done anything like this and am now wondering about the options.

I recently went to a large store and bought a few merchandise on my credit card totaling around 2500 dollars. Then (with some bad advise) I returned different items to that store and accepted the refund. These items were by the same manufacturers or brand, but were not the same item. I made a HUGE mistake listening to some bad advise from an ex-friend.

Now this recently happened and I am getting a tons of phone calls from there. I haven't had the guts or courage to pick up those phone calls since I am really scared. What should I do? What are my options?

I have NEVER EVER stolen or did anything in my life that is remotely illegal. Heck I am 35 years old and have never even gotten a speeding ticket. I am miserable and haven't slept in 5 days just worried sick.

Please HELP me!! Should I take their phone call and see what they have to say? Should I just go to the store and explain what happened and then just pay it off and be on my way? Appreciate any advise or help you can provide me.

Why don't you start by taking the phone call. Acting like an ostrich and burying your head in the sand is of no help at all to you.

    Two pieces of advice.

One, stop blaming other people for your actions. You are a grown woman and have been for quite a while. It is time to take responsibility for your own deeds.

Two, take the call. Find out what they want. Delaying this is only going to encourage them to pursue any and all legal options open to them.

This is not the right time to hack them off.
