My husband and I were married in England in September 2003. We relocated to the United States in February 2005. Since then he acquired his green card under a spousal visa. We were late submitting his I-751 for removal of conditions. It was received, and subsequently approved. However, we never received anything from USCIS and therefore assumed things were fine.

In June 2009 he received a letter informing us that he will undergo deportation proceedings because his I-751 was denied.

We are not well off, and therefore are struggling to come up with money for an attorney. We have been married for 6 years, my husband and I are good, law abiding people. We both have great jobs and we are at a loss on what to do next.

We went to his original hearing and it was put off so he could get an attorney, but we make too much money for any kind of state one, and not enough for a personal one. Is there hope? Should we re-file his I-751?
