    Smile Personal Visit on B1/B2

    Hello,

I have a 10 year multiple entry B1/B2 visa. I got it through my employer. However, my proposed visit to the US in September 2009, was canceled. Now in December 2009, I am planning to visit a friend in Atlanta (he is there on a L-1 visa). I have one question.

    1) What are the documents that i need at the port of entry?

    Regards and thanks

You need your passport and your visa paperwork.

Thank you! just to clarify - when you say visa paperwork - then you mean the visa stamp on my passport, right? Is my understanding correct?

    Thanks!!

Yes, and any attendant papers you might have (such as an approval notice, though the notice is not necessary).

I don't have a visa approval notice. But am planning to have my friend email me an invite letter with his address, stating that I could stay with him. Most people told me such invite letters are not needed but one person was saying that it might be necessary since it is a personal trip. May I have your advice?

Such letters are not required, no, but it couldn't hurt.
