Default Missed Trial De Novo Due Date

My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: California

Hi, I was found guilty from my trial by declaration and was notified to have a Trial de novo. Since I live away from home for school, as stupid as it sounds, I actually past the 20 days limit to request/mail in my Trial de novo. The bail/fine has already been applied, so I'm pretty sure I don't owe anything to our state. Just wondering though, what are the options I have right now? Is there anything I can do or should be doing? What's going to happen now?

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you!

You have no options... Your case has been closed! The conviction will be reported to the DMV and assuming that this is a moving violation, points will be assessed to your driving record accordingly... Those points will remain on your driving record for three years from the violation date and may end up in an increase in your insurance premium... But who knows exactly when or by how much...

Thanks, that's all I need to know. For some reason it still says "convicted" on my online court record, it got me kind of confused.

    Really appreciate your help. Thanks!
