My case is in FL.
I recently changed jobs, so my child support is late. My boss contacted the payroll company to have them send the support payment, but they stated that they couldn't until they received the paperwork from the DOR instructing them on the specific amount, etc. Since I started in the middle of a pay period, but pay was scant so I will have to wait until at least next week to make a payment.
My ex e-mails me and says that because I am behind on my child support, she cannot afford to drive our son to our regular halfway point for visitation and that I will need to drive to her house to come pick him up. I can't afford the gas for this either and I work two hours from where she lives. I can't take off work any earlier either...
This seems to me that it would fall under her almost refusing visitation by making it difficult for me to pick our son up on time based upon the lack of payment of child support which I know is illegal under FL law.
What should I do about this?
