My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: UK
Hi
I am not sure if anybody can help me, but I am from UK and am after some advice.
I was convicted of drug smuggling (Coke in South America) 8 years ago, and was sentenced to 25 years, however managed to get that reduced and out within 5.
I am now employed in UK by large corporate co, and doing really well, but I lied on my application about this charge - I am so worried that somebody will find out - I have told a lot of people about this charge, and have made some enemies.
What would happen if somebody told my company? How would they check, or would they even bother to check now? I am not sure if I have a criminal record, it wouldn't be here in the UK, but my country of origin is SAfrica, and the offence was in Peru.
Any advice greatly greatly received.
Many thanks
