A neighbor dug a trench on their property to ensure that all storm water drainage from the road traveled down that path rather than into their rock wall supporting their driveway. In digging the trench they discovered that the neighbor's sprinker system/lines were in fact on their property. They told the neighbor not to touch them, to just leave them as is. The neighbor had a sprinkler service man come out anyhow. He cut the lines and damaged the integrity of the trench on the neighbors side. This gave the water on the neighbors side some where to run. The neighbor had put up a wood barrier the length of his property with ties. The water from his property and downspouts began to erode underneath his wood causing the trench to become even larger and travel onto the neighbors property. Any liability here on either side?
