I am professional in my attitude at work, and an issue came up where I had to communicate with a co worker about THEIR behavior. The response from this person was that they were going to get me fired (bad behavior, unprofessional). The next thing I know, I'm in the Superintendants office, and a falsely generated three day susspension has been created. The comment on the paper is that I am the one who was acting unprofessionally????? Psychologically speaking, this work group is sufferring from extreeme negative projections (behaviors in self are projected onto other innocent parties).
I know the mental fiber of these workers, as well as mgmt. I doubt I will have a job when I return from the three day suspension.
My question:
Can I be fired, legally, if the reason given has been based on false information?
OR
Is this a defamation issue?
