    Default Georgia Expungement

My question involves criminal records for the state of: Ga I have looked into the laws for expungement in the state and if i'm correct, once you are convicted you don't qualify??!! I have 2 misdemeanor charges from 1992 and i was wondering if it was an option to write the judge directly or would a pardon be the best route?? i have not been in trouble since then and they still haunt me, i love the net but jeeeeeeeeeez!!!! in the old days prospective employers just took you at face value, its crazy how all of these web(background check) sites profit from making people like me look like a hardened criminal!!!

Writing the judge directly will not help you - he's not even going to read it. It would compromise his impartiality.

Pardons are rarely granted, but it certainly can't hurt to apply for one.

Thanks for the response, if I can't get a pardon do I just have to throw in the towel or would you advise me to speak with a lawyer? Would a lawyer be able to do anything that I couldn't?? Thanks
