I am planning on making a website and was making sure the FBI wasn't going to bust in my door or something. It will have articles on how to bootleg movies, games, software, and pretty much anything else. It will tell how to make copies, download them, and other things. It will include links to programs you will need and possibly have direct download of some of these programs. Is there anything I should keep in mind when making the site? Also, the word bootleg will be in the web address. Will this be bad? I figure there are a lot worse sites out there that actually distribute the bootleg stuff but I am just telling how. Is this freedom of speech? Thanks for the help. And this is in tennessee, even though this is probably federal law.
It sounds like you are asking for trouble. In addition to the FBI, you could possibly get a visit from the TN Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Secret Service (for electronic crimes), the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (who have jurisdiction over intellectual property crimes), or your local law enforcement agency. You may instead want to consider a new subject matter for your website.
