My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of:
Hi,
I bought a £1500 wedding dress from a bridal desinger sale event in London 2 weeks ago.
I was told the dress was designed by XXX designer and it was used in a photo shoot for OK! magazine (OK! logo on hanging straps). Even though the dress labelled 'OK! Exclusives by AAA', salespeople insisted the dress was designed by XXX and was used in a photo shoot and it was one of a kind.
I wrote to them wishing to reject the goods under Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended) as it's not as described (XXX v AAA). They replied that the dress is definitely designed by XXX but has 'wrong label sewn into the gown' (isn't this fraud?). It was also not used in an OK! shoot neither is one of a kind.
Do I have a case against them? The one of a kind statement also plays a big factor in my decision. I was going to have a gown made in Asia but decided against it since I found one here.
