My question involves criminal law for the state of: SOUTH CAROLINA My heart is litterally shattered. Tonight at around 5am we received a call at my house saying that my little brother, 16-year-old, was involved in a car accident and that he had been arrested.
I haven't spoken with him, but that's what the police told us: He was in a car with three friends, driving at 110miles per hour (he was in the back seat) in a small city in SC. When they were told to pull over by a cop, his friend, the driver, sped up and decided not to stop. The car, unfortunately, hit a bump and flew a few hundred meters down a relatively small hill. Fortunately, thank God, they are all three alive with minor injuries - had there been any tree on the way, they wouldn't have made it.
After further inspection, the cops found open beer containers in the car of the minor, plus a controlled medicine (maybe ederol, if Im not mistaken), and marijuana in my brother's wallet, so he'll be charged three times for these offenses.
I am candidly asking for anyone's help. I am aprehensive... what is gonna happen to him? Does he have any chances of getting a job in the future? Going to college? How many months, or years will he stay in prison (he's 16)? And any other further observations... I don't know what to do and accidentally found this web-site. I would deeply appreciate any kind of help.![]()
