My question involves real estate located in the State of: Washington
My neightbor sent me a certified letter stating that he has given me plenty of time to move the fence. He also complains about my evergreen branches reaching into his property and leaves falling from my trees and landing in his yard.
We had spoken several year ago about the fence, but I told him it was not very high on my priority list. There is a post at one corner of the line in question, but there are no identifying marks that tell me it was installed with a survey. I am satisfied withthe fence, but also want the fence to be in the correct location, but I do not have the funds to have a survey done or to move the fence. My neighbor seems to think it is my responsibility to get this done and pay for it also. He has also been very unreasonable about other neighbor issues that he has brought up.
I have owned this property for 4 years and he has owned his property since 1995. I don't know how long the fence has been there.
What is my responsibility in this situation?
