    Default Shoplifting

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Nebraska

couple of years ago I got in troulbe with the law (embezzling money) paid it all back and then some did community service as part of a diversation program... ( charges were then dropped) ok stupid me got caught red handed shoplifting 20.00 dollars worth of paper goods recently. The police came questioned me and and gave me a paper to appear in court in a month likewise the store banned me from ever returning. I am so scared I did get a lawyer. I am a good person just dumband realize I need help and I do understand I broke the law. What can I expect?

If you have an attorney, you really should be addressing your questions to him/her. An attorney may be able to get your punishment settled without ever having to go in front of the judge.

If you do end up in front of the judge, your charges will be read and you'll be asked for your plea. Plead as your attorney instructs. Do EVERYTHING as your attorney instructs.

You'll likely end up with fines, restitution and probation.
