    Default Minor Consumption in Indiana

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Indiana

I have recieved a drinking ticket on Ball State University's campus.

I have been cited for Left of Center, which means opposite side of the road. I was not in the other side of the road, I merely touched the yellow lines with my left side tires. I was paying attention to the person in the passenger seat when I realized I was drifting, corrected myself. Unfortunately there was a state police officer behind me.

Also, I was cited for Alcohol Violation by Minor over 18 No Motor Vehicle. He told me to get out of the car, sit in the passenger seat of the police vehicle, he continued to breathalyze me probably because the traffic violation. I blew a .04 on the breathalyzer.

    Are these two seperate offenses?
Can I just pay the fine by money order and continue on?
What do I have to do further besides show up on the court date?

any further information is very helpful. thankyou

Are driving left of center, and violating a zero tolerance law for underaged drivers separate offenses? Yes. Were you cited for both? Please share the statute citations for the charges, or look them up here.

I had a friend call his uncle that is in law practice and he said that I might be able to get the driving left of center dropped.

How do I go about doing this? Do I need to hire a lawyer?

It is my first offense for anything on my record except for a driving accident but that is irrelevent I was told.

If the left of center was dropped, it would be just a minor consumption ticket without the chance of a DUI or DWI. Is that true?

yes, i was cited for both in the same occurance. i'm not sure if the officer was just giving me a break because i am military. He did not arrest me, all he required from me was for me to sit in the front seat of the police vehicle and answer questions. then he printed off my ticket and gave it to me.

the statute citations as i believe are as follows:

    9-21-8-2A
    Driving Wrong Side of Road

    and

    7.1-5-7-7 -b
Alcohol violation by Minor over 18 No Motor Vehical
