OP, I totally understand how you feel. This was a terrifying experience for you, and if I were you I would want to speak to that officer and to his superiors about what happened, why it happened, and how to attempt to make sure it doesn't happen again.
In the end though, he is a person, and he made a mistake. But a very serious mistake.

Did he run just the plate # or did he actually say Texas plates? If he was having a hard time seeing the plate, he may not have been sure on the state.the cop ran my Texas plate number
Right. But if he wasn't SURE about the state...I heard the dispatcher tell him that it was a hit in Phoenix on a stolen Honda but the Texas plate is clear.

Here's the thing...I agree, it is pretty scary to have a gun pointed at you. But until all the facts are in, you really don't know why he did what he did. You've filed a complaint...let it play out and see what happens.
