My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Maryland
I have worked at my company for almost 13 years and recently a few disturbing events have taken place:
- I had a performance review which rated me a 3 out of 4 (4 being the highest) when the actual oral review took place with my manager. When I went to sign the completed review, the score had gone from 3 to 2 which basically means during the review I was "above requirements" and when it was time to sign I was at "meets requirements." This is the lowest score I've gotten in all my years of working here and I emailed my boss and told him my score changed and he just said yes, he noticed that too. So, without further comment from him, I called him the next day and asked about it and he just said it was "no big deal" and wouldn't impact my employment. Is this legal? I know it isn't ethical. I believe he changed my computerized performance review result. Also, as a side not: my actual oral review was very good. And he has not changed the result back.
- A few months before my review, my entire group shifted our focus to a new product and I was the only one not included in this project. I asked about it a few times, but was given no answer as to why I have been ostracized from the group by my manager.
-My manager has never indicated any problems with me whatsoever and I consider myself a very good employee with a very good work ethic.
I'm wondering if I should go to HR or if I even have a case here?
Thank you and I appreciate your help.
