    Default Estate Lawyers

    State of Michigan
Could someone please tell me exactly what an estate lawyer is suppose to do? Are they suppose to follow thru and make sure the estate is divided the way the will states? Or are they only to submit the paperwork to probate court?

It is the estate attorney's responsibility to ensure that all documents are submitted to the court in timely fashion, that the executor is following proper Probate procedures and administering the estate such that s/he does not incur any personal liability, and to see to it that the estate is properly divided according to the decedent's wishes.
