My question involves criminal law for the state of: Massachusetts

Today I got caught stealing a $5 hair product and a $15 medication from CVS and i regret is deeply.
I acted very civil to the employee who caught me and was being very obedient. I am 19, and the man said that i may or may not receive a fine in the mail.
I am extremely nervous that my parents will find out,
so what are the chances of me receiving a fine?
when would it come?
and how much money would it most likely be for?

You have a 99% chance of receiving a civil demand in the very near future. Look for it to be at least a few hundred dollars. It is because of "obedient" thieves like you that prices have skyrocketed. This helps to recover just a tiny bit of that.
