Retil Theft First Time, in Illinois

My question involve One of my friend got caught in retail theft shoplifting,the value of good was $135(it was pair of shoe,2 caps,and one earing artificial) ,which is less than $150,and they are residend of il(oakbrook ,il).This is her first theft c never did like this and c has totally clean and clear record ,when c was leving the store ,then store people come and took her inside,and found merchandise,as c was with her 1.5 yr small kid so she got tensed and scare,and signed the form which store gave to her ,c totally co-operated with store people,they ask for driving license and c gave that to them,but in mean while,store called cop ,they gave ticket to her,and told her that c will receive a letter from court and c has to present there on that time and place,the policw was quite co-operated with her when they saw c with small kid,they also told that its same like driving ticket,,but c is too tensed. Now c is too tensed,c has some question

1,should c consult to attorney ?or should c hire attorney for this matter,

2, What wil be consequences in court?

3,what will be judge deciscion,as it is her first offence and it is less than $150,so what court can decide for her?

3,Is there any jail for it?

4,Is it going to affect her record in data base,like for applying for job?

5.how many days it takes to get letter from court and solve all problem?

6.what should she tell to judge ,so that she will get least fees and less punishement,should she tell that s is guilty and give leat fees becoz its her first offence,nd c won.t be doing it again?Can any one plz tell me the exact word c will tell to judge,so that c will get less fees and compentation?s criminal law for the state of:

Damage control mode: First consult an attorney. If not possible…show remorse, tell the truth and admit it was a “stupid” mistake. Don’t try to insult the judges intelligence by claiming ADD or temporary insanity etc. We all make mistakes in life…you live, you learn…then move on!

Thankyou for your reply ,but can anyone tell me,that when the store has video tape of stealing , then how can an attorney will help to prove that i am innocent?
When i am ready to accept that i am guilt of my deed,then what can be judge deciscion?How can attorney will help me to clear my records?

is the fees for first offence is less(with clean nd clear record) ?
