    Assuming these are auxiliary benefits resulting from your disability, it's my understanding that they're to be used for the benefit of the children (i.e., their support). The money can still be used for their benefit (e.g., college tuition) or turned over to them. If you want specifics based upon the type of benefits at issue and the facts of your case, ask a Social Security case worker.

    I don't see where they would ask for the ss benefits back that were received for the children. Your saving the money for college should be ok. However, as Mr. Knowitall suggested, you might contact your local SS office & ask them any questions you might have.
