    Default Employer Unwilling to Pay

My question involves business law in the state of: Employer is in California Employee is in Arizona and other parties involved are in other states.

An employer committed to paying employee $40,000 and wanted him to quit his current job to work for him full time. A month of work was given to the employer and two of those weeks were after quitting current job. In the weeks of work, the employee contacted 2 artists/performers on behalf of the employer and offered them record deals based of he employers word. The employer stated paperwork was being complete and gave both verbal and written committments to the employee and the soon to be signed artists, one if which is under 18. He has sense backed out on all promises and all are in limbo and out of work and school. Though contracts were not signed there is written documentation from his conversations via email, text, and chat. There are witnesses who are a part of all parties involved who heard verbal committments. Is there a name to be put to the types of charges that can be pursued through a court of law.

    Thank you.

Are you trying to tell us that the employer changed his mind about hiring the employee? What contracts weren't signed? What do the artists/performers have to do with the dispute? There are witnesses to what commitments?
