My mother was recently denied a visa under section 212(a)(6)(c)(i). According to the consular, my parents failed to extend their visa back in the 70’s and stayed past the time their visa allowed them to be in-country, and according to the law this is considered fraud and that’s why her visa was denied.
I spend almost 2 years doing all necessary paperwork and not once was informed by the National Visa Center that this was an issue, we found out the day of her interview with the counselor. She’s 67 years old and I’d like to do everything that is legally possible to have her with me as I’m financially responsible for her and have been for over 10 years. Let me know if there’s hope.
