Default Misdemeanor a for Operating Salvage Vehicle

My question involves vehicle registration or title in the state of: Texas
    Hi,
I am a small dealer who rebuilts salvage cars and sells them. Very recently I was pulled over by an officer and arrested for operating a salvage vehicle. I was just driving the car to get it inspected so I can sell it. this is the first time it has happed to me. I have a court date in one month and the officer is saying it is misdemeanor A. I have a clear record and have never been convicted of any crime. What do you think I should do and what do u think will happen.

I suggest working with a lawyer to try to get the charge dismissed, or to get a deferral to a Class C misdemeanor (if possible) so that you qualify for expungement. It may help to be able to document to the prosecutor that you've taken appropriate steps so that this won't happen again (e.g., invested in a tow truck).
