My question involves an eviction in the state of: Alaska
My wife and I currently stay with her father in her father's duplex due to an agreement we came upon which allowed us to stay with our four toddlers and two older children in exchange for me remodeling the other side of his duplex. After my mother-in-law died it was found by my father-in-laws company that he no longer had any dependants and would therefore lose his benefits package at its current level.
Behind our backs he went to an attorney and attempted to adopt our two oldest children and when we found out he kicked me out started throwing out my belongings including my tools used in the remodel. Additionally, he has now lost all the receipts for materials I purchased and submitted and refuses to compensate me for either that or the work I've done.
He now is attemtping to kick out my wife but I've not had enough time to find another place to live and this would cause a serious hardship due to our very young children, four of which are under the age of three.
Is there anything I can do to first keep my wife and children from also being put on the street, and second to regain some of the money I spent in addition to the tools i've now lost?
